The
blending on the mill is commenced with the stock
blender rolls rotating and the traversing carriage
stationary. Now the compound is taken from the
side of the front roll and fed through the traversing
carriage directly to the stock blender roll
nip and the traversing carriage can be started
and full width of compound is accepted continuously
in to the blender from the mill front roll and
fed back into the mill nip in the opposite diagonal
positions thus promoting efficient dispersion
of any additives that might have been added
on the mill for improving the dispersion of
compound.
